The Nimrod Numnuts put 6 runs on the scoreboard in the 10th inning and had an
easy time of it at the ballpark defeating the league door-mat North Dallas
Fire Ants in 10 innings by a score of 10 to 4.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Nimrod came out the
victor in the 10th inning. The key offensive moment was provided by Scott
Podsednik who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he doubled bringing
in two baserunners. Nimrod had 14 hits overall, while North Dallas had 8.
The victory was credited to David Aardsma(5-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Mike Thompson(3-4) was tagged with the loss in relief. By surrending 6
runs in 1 and 2/3 innings his ERA jumped from 5.36 to 6.35.
The Nimrod ballclub's record now stands at 72-79. With the loss, North Dallas
has a record of 6-4 lately, 57-94, worst in the division overall.
